Nick Knight

There's a lot of elements that go into making the perfect shot.
Is the make up right? Is every hair in place? How do the garments look? Do they sit right? Are they clean? Do they match? What about the model? How's her body language? What about her expression?

And that's not even the half of it.

On a photoshoot there are many elements to consider, often there may be many people there to make the day run smoothy and according to plan, one person assigned to each task;
Make up artist keeping their eye always on the make up.
Hair person on the hair.
Stylist on the clothes.

But there's one key person we're forgetting. The most important person of all, with the hardest job, that has to keep their eye on all of these elements on top of their own.

The photographer.

I've been doing some research on them and believe that I have found the very best.
He's insanely talented, hugely successful, remarkebly interesting and highly acclaimed in the industry.
His name is Nick Knight and this is some of his work.

This is my absolute favourite because I have looked at it about 300 times and I still can't figure out how he did it!

Nick Knight is a British photographer and director of SHOWstudio.com. He is known for his personal, experimental vision, resulting in work that exists outside the conventions of fashion photography.

Knight was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2010 Birthday Honours.

Nick Knight is top of the celebrities' photographer wish list. His reputation for pushing boundaries technically and creatively at every opportunity and being at the forefront of innovation is deeply attractive. He has worked on a range of often controversial issues during his career - from racism, disability, ageism, and more recently fat-ism. He continually challenges conventional ideals of beauty.

"I don't want to reflect social change - I want to cause social change."
-Nick Knight
