Sometimes I see people in clothes and I want to die.. literally. Those "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!!!" moments.
Well I've decided to give you a rundown on all those fashion NO NOs and after reading this I BEG you to please pleeeeeeeease never do any of them ever again!!
Ugg boots
Ahh the Australian classic.. designed years and years ago to be worn as slippers around the house.. so WHY THE HELL did people decide to start wearing them outdoors.. not OK people.. not OK!
Belts on tshirts
A belt around the waist is there to pull in and create a waist. A slim fitting t-shirt is alread\y showcaisng your curves so putting a belt around it, is just ridiculous and looks sooooo stupid! This has to be one of my most hated faux pas, I mainly see it on teenagers that have overthought their outfit to look cool hanging around the shopping centres on the weekend. Next time your out and about, you'll see exactly what I'm tallking about.
Wear a waist belt with loose fitting dresses and high waisted pants and skirts to hide the join.
Leggings as pants
Would you wear stockings instead of pants? no.. so why do people wear leggings as pants? Wear leggings with (very) oversized long t-shirts, slightly too short dresses but if you can see the crotch you should be wearing pants NOT leggings.
Midriff tops
We are well out of the 90s and this is not Beverly Hills 90210 so any form of midriff (yes that's right it's midriff with an f not midrift with a t) top is not OK especially on anyone the wrong side of 25 at the very very latest.
Muffin tops
Stop lying about your size.. if you have a muffin top your clothes are too small, it's far far better to have clothes that fit well that kidding yourself that you're a size smaller than you are. After all, people can't see the label in your clothes, they know no different and muffin tops only make you look bigger anyway.
Too much flesh
The picture says it all.. if I had liked Katy Perry before I definately wouldn't after this tradgedy!!
Kristen Stewart
... nuff said!!
Bad fake tan
There's a fine line between a natural looking fake tan and a terrible one.. Don't be a Donatella Versace.. get a genuinely good fake tan (St. Tropez is a good one) or embrace your innner ghost and go pale!! If you insist on faking it watch out for those dry skin areas.. there's nothing stylish about orange clumps on knees, elbows and hands!
Bad blush
SLOOOW DOWN! blush is supposed to add a bit of colour to your face, a BIT not a lot, same goes for bronzer.. you shouldn't even be able to notice it, it should be blended in.
Velour
I don't even know what to say... just don't!!!
OK, if you have read this blog, I will take it as a promise that you will never ever do any of these things again.. maybe we can change the world, one blog at a time!!
On your best behaviour.
Rememeber in Sex and the City 2 when the girls go to Abu Dhabi and Samantha gets arrested for.. well.. being Samantha.
When you travel, you just can't act the way you normally would in your own country, it is a good idea to do some research into their cultures and beliefs.
Lucklily for you.. I have done some for you!

The rise of the shoulder pad
Well I decided to look into it! The shoulder pad is one of this winters biggest trends as I have said in previous blogs.
So where did it originate? the 80s? You'd have thought so wouldn't you.. well click on the following link to find the truth.
An evolution of style.
Whenever I see a picture of myself I cringe.. I hate having my picture taken. I can tell other people how to pose for pictures but when it comes to myself I am hopeless, I never look good, even if I know that on that particular occasion I was looking not too bad, pictures just aren’t my friend. So you can imagine my dismay the other day when I saw a picture of myself from a few years ago, not only do I think I looked hideous but I caught one glimpse of my outfit and just about died.. What was I thinking??!
It made me realise how much my style has changed not only from then but from when I was a baby, so I decided I would dedicate this blog to my style through the years, yep.. the good, the bad and the very very ugly!!
Age 4; I’ll be honest, didn’t have a lot of input into how I dressed at this age, but the one thing that I still remember as being my staple item was a little multicoloured coat that we still have hidden away in a cupboard somewhere, very stylish and funky. I do believe this was the beginning of my eternal love of fashion.. Thank you mum!
Age 10; Mum still acting as my very own personal stylist helped me put together this girly/grunge/summer look.. Floral print dungarees, tartan Dr. Martins and John Lennon sunnies with ‘just woke up and pulled my fingers through my hair’ hair.. An outfit that wouldn’t look out of place on Aggyness Deyn!
Age 12; It was around this age I had what you might call a lapse in fashion, ditching the 'look how effortlessly fab I am, yes I did just throw this together, aren’t I great’ look and replacing it with (don’t even know if I can bring myself to say it!) Flouro green Adidas trainers, those god awful Adidas track pants that had poppers down the side!.. Eugh, and that’s not even the worst of it.. Finish that off with a bright yellow, Manchester United fleece and my signature greasy hair and pimple ridden face. This was definately a low point for me!!
Age 14; I’m a goth, you can’t possibly understand me because I wear black clothes, pentangles and black lipstick. I’m such an individual, I practise witchcraft and never smile..
Moving swiftly on….!
Age15-16; I’m no longer a goth, I’m now a ‘mosher’ this basically means I wear a lot of REALLY baggy pants that are too long for me so they drag on the ground and get filthy, I then drag this filth all over my dads cream carpet and he goes mental at me.
Age 18; I don’t think too much about fashion these days as I have lost a lot of weight and clothes are generally looking pretty good on me. I don’t even remember what I used to wear at this time but I sure miss being that thin!!
Age 20; I have put the weight back on. I wear great clothes but in hindsight they don’t suit me at all and I have no money so I wear the same stuff all the time so not only do I look terrible, I always look the same!!
Now - 23; I don’t think I have a particular style, I dress how I feel, everyday brings a new look. I have a lot of colour in my wardrobe am big on red lips, pale skin, blazers, cocktail rings and skinny jeans. I love experimenting with clothes and try not to wear the same outfit twice if I can help it.
I believe that we are all going to make a fashion faux pas at least once in our lives; take Olivia Palermo; I've always maintained that she never puts a foot wrong when it comes to dressing herself BUT.. shock horror, the other day in GRAZIA I saw a picture of her wearing, what can only be described as a hideous outfit and it finally dawned on me.. even the best of us make mistakes and it’s OK, as long as you learn from it and in the past 23 years, I can definitely say that I have learnt a lot!!
Got no idea about what looks good? Email me.. steviepeers@gmail.com and book in for a personal shopping trip and wardrobe audit!!
Alexa Chung
On what planet is a jacket (albeit a fantastic one) sufficient clothing to go out in public in??
On Alexa Chungs planet that's where.. and what KILLS me is that she absolutely rocks it.
I put on this outfit, I look like a whale that forgot to out on her pants and brush her hair, Alexa does it.. she looks chic, effortless and stylish. Really I should hate her but I just can't help but love her.
She really is that girl next door who just so happens to know what she's talking about when it comes to fashion!
Not only that but she's a lovely, genuine, down to earth person with a boyfriend who fronts one of the hottest English bands around.
She really has got it going on..
...Damn you Alexa!!!
A sad state of affairs.
I know I'm a bit late to the party on this and I know it's nothing to do with fashion but it is something that is hugely important.
Obviously the huge BP oil spill, has been something that has had the whole world talking, it has devastated thousands of people, not to mention the death of 11 and the 17 that have been injured but what I want to talk about is the animals.
Of course it has been something that I have thought of and been saddened by but it wasn't until I watched the 7pm project tonight, as I do every night, it's a great show to watch to catch up on news, in a way that is easy to watch and for want of a better term; more fun than the actual news.
Anyway, on tonight's show Dr. Chris Brown aka Bondi vet, went to the gulf of Mexico where he showed us the absolutely devastating effects it has had on the creatures that inhabit the area. I'm not going to lie.. I cried, it was very uncomfortable to watch and made me feel so ashamed of myself, that while these hideous things are going on in the world.. I'm studying and practicing fashion styling. How selfish and materialistic can I get? I love LOVE fashion with all my heart but I also love the prospect of a clean earth and animals and I know which one is more important.
Seeing those pelicans literally living in thick disgusting oil made me want to pack up and head over there to help with the clean up mission. I can't do that, so I am going to make it my mission to find a way of helping even a little bit. It isn't right that we sit back and do nothing, this is a huge huge thing and it affects everybody.
We complain about cancer and other diseases that kill, yet we still drive cars and smoke and pollute and so many other things that the world just simply wasn't designed for.
The earth as well as the human body are incredible things, the way they work is fascinating, they were designed to survive but how can they survive when all we do is treat them like crap?
The very worst part of it is that we have gone too far, who knows how much longer the earth can put up with all the grief that we have given it.
What we can do is try to make it as comfortable as possible for everyone living on it, while it's still around, so I urge everybody to find some way of doing something, however small, to make a difference, whether it's simply donating money or actually getting stuck in.
So thank you to the 7pm project and Dr. Chris Brown, if no one else, you have at least opened my eyes in a big way.
The spread of the spill is the equivalent of Brisbane - Melbourne, if you don;t know how far that is, have a look!

So here they are, more to come!!
